The city so far has 9,018 breakthrough infections of Covid-19, according to the data of the civic body. However, the rate of infection was merely 0.31 per cent and the majority of them contracted the virus 15 days after taking their second vaccine dose, it added.
A breakthrough case is when a person gets an infection even after being fully vaccinated against it. “The infection caused after two doses of vaccine has been very minimal and the citizens have also recovered soon. The rate of infection among such a population is hardly 0.31 per cent,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani.
