Maharashtra health department’s data published on Monday reported 18 casualties from various parts of the state, but none from Mumbai. The BMC, however, registered four deaths on Monday. Three of the four deceased in the city had comorbidities, three were senior citizens and one was aged between 40 and 60 years.

The number of new COVID-19-related cases and deaths across Maharashtra dropped slightly on Monday, possibly due to fewer tests over the weekends. While the state recorded 5,210 new infections, the city registered 760.
