BMC confirms 11,647 new cases, TPR drops below 20; state-wide tally rises marginally to 34,424

Both the daily COVID-19 cases and the test positivity rate (TPR) continued to decline in the city. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Tuesday confirmed 11,647 fresh infections and registered a TPR of 18.75 per cent. At two, there was a drop in fatalities, too. Both the deceased had comorbidities, according to the BMC report. One was in the age group of 40-59 years and the other was a senior citizen.
Of the newly confirmed patients, 83 per cent of them were asymptomatic. At 851, there was a marginal rise in hospitalisations on Tuesday. The recovery rate remained constant at 87 per cent, with 14,980 patients being discharged. The doubling rate dropped marginally and was 36 days.
