Following mid-day’s reports on the death of an electrician in the Nhava Sheva container terminal from allegedly inhaling fumes emanating from a container full of beef that had been lying untouched for four years, the Tehsildar of Uran has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
He has also called a meeting with officials of all the companies handling container yards across Uran taluka to discuss the issue of disputed containers. Speaking to mid-day, Nitin Chavan, Tehsildar of Uran, said, “We have now arranged a meeting with all the terminal representatives on August 10 in which we will be discussing the issue of containers not getting cleared from the terminals.
