A new colour shade of “Restrained Imperium” has been finalized for the train, following design approval by Ahmedabad-based National Institute of Design (NID).

The designs for the upgrading of the dining car of the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen train have been approved. The dining car will be a 40-seater with 10 dining tables. It will now be manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.
“The upgrades were approved in February 2021 and sent to ICF Chennai. The manufacturing of the dining car will be taken up as per their schedule,” a senior official said.
