Deshmukh, who is facing allegations of corruption levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, has tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday.

Maharashtra Minister for Labour and Excise Dilip Walse Patil's name is under consideration for the Home Minister post after the resignation of Anil Deshmukh, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) sources said.
Deshmukh, who is facing allegations of corruption levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, has tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday.
