ON Tuesday, sleuths attached to Mumbai Crime Branch raided a storage facility at Nalanda Shopping Centre in Goregaon, unearthing a consignment of counterfeit luggage products bearing Giordano branding.

The consignment, valued at Rs 76 lakh, consisted of almost 400 sets of luggage. Each set consists of two or three pieces of soft upright trolleys.

The police have arrested Sunil Bagadiya who had allegedly purchased the duplicate products from Bajaji Industries, Jaipur.

The seized products were part of a series of consignments that were offloaded in the Indian market. The total valuation of the duplicate products that have illegally entered the market is being estimated at about 2.5 crore.
