Four new rail lines in Navi Mumbai have created parking space for six 12-car trains on the harbour line. The ongoing one-year-long project was finally wound up last night in a four-hour block by linking it to existing lines.
“Four new local train stabling sidings of the stabling capacity of six EMU rakes were successfully commissioned at Juinagar station on August 27 during the harbour line mega block. Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC) and Central Railway (CR) had undertaken the work. Out of four new stabling lines, two lines have a capacity of stabling of two trains each, thus a total of six trains can be stabled,” a CR spokesperson said.
