The Bombay High Court today asked the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai to devise a policy to ensure that the area within ten km radius of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here remains garbage-free.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by lawyer Datta Mane which points out that garbage in the surrounding area attracts birds, which leads to incidents of `bird-hits' (birds running into flights).
