The dastardly terror attack on star hotels Oberoi Trident, Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai on November 26, 2008 left an indelible scar on the hearts and minds of Mumbaikars.

Mid-day photojournalists Pradeep Dhivar, Suresh K.K, Ashish Rane and Nimesh Dave share first-hand accounts of the events that unfolded during the ‘Operation Black Tornedo’ and after.

Talking about the intense impact the three-day operation left on the minds of eyewitnesses, Principal Photographer Suresh K.K said, “I still hear gunshots every time I visit Taj. These are old memories.”

Photographer Pradeep Dhivar says, “There was a moment when I could see Kasab from behind the bushes but he couldn’t see me. I still regret not being able to capture that.”
