A 34-year-old Mulund resident, who used to run a kirana shop at Vikhroli, had left Mumbai during the pandemic to lessen his chances of contracting Covid-19 and settled in Kutch. However, while he didn’t get infected, he lost his life after being stung by bees. On October 15, when the deceased, Hiren Mota, was travelling from Baug village in Kutch to Mandvi, a bee stung him on his leg and hands which led to him feeling dizzy. Mota then called a relative, asking for help.

However, when Mota’ brother Jitendra Rajgore reached the spot, Mota had already fallen unconscious. Rajgore took him to a hospital at Mandvi. The doctors at the hospital advised CT scan but as it was not available at the hospital, Mota had to be taken to a Bhuj-based hospital. The CT scan report showed that the bee poison had spread even to his brain. Later, Mota was shifted to a hospital in Ahmedabad, where he died on Monday night.
