Maharashtra extends e-KYC deadline for Ladki Bahin scheme beneficiaries

Maharashtra minister Aditi Tatkare has said the November deadline for completing eKYC for the Ladki Bahin scheme will be extended by 15 days for women residing in the floodaffected regionsSignificant improvements were being made to the eKYC server system under the Ladki Bahin Yojana to ensure smoother and faster processing for beneficiaries the women and child development minister told reporters in Thane on Monday eveningUnder the governments flagship Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana eligible women receive Rs 1500 every monthTatkare said the government has prioritised resolving the technical issues faced during eKYC verification which had slowed down the process in some areasEvery day eKYC verification of around four to five lakh women is being completed So far more than 110 crore women have successfully finished the process covering nearly 90 per cent of the total applicants she saidThe administration is committed to ensuring that no eligible woman is left out due to technical or logistical hurdles the minister saidHighlighting the outreach in floodaffected areas Tatkare said Women in those regions will get an additional 15 days to complete their eKYCThe NCP leader also said that her party led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will play a decisive role in determining the next mayor of the Thane Municipal Corporation TMC indicating the partys growing influence in the regions political landscapeShe was talking to reporters after attending a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party NCP officebearers in Thane where the civic polls are likely to be held before the end of January 2026Earlier Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Maharashtra government wont stop the popular Ladki Bahin programme and instead is committed to creating one crore Lakhpati Didis who will earn Rs 1 lakh every yearThe government will also provide employment opportunities to women by setting up womenled credit societies in villages he said after launching the statewide Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayat Raj Abhiyan at Kingaon in Phulambri taluka in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar reported PTIThe campaign aims to ensure that every village receives the benefits of the central and state schemesMaharashtra will not prosper unless villages in the state register progress he said It is not possible until the poor labourers and villages prosper he saidWith inputs from PTI
