Lata Mangeshkar death: ‘We tried our best but just couldn’t save her’

Lata Mangeshkar, who had been hospitalised after contracting Covid-19, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital after multi-organ failure due to sepsis

"We tried our level best but couldn’t save her,” said Dr P Santhanam, CEO, Breach Candy Hospital, about Lata Mangeshkar, who died of multi-organ failure on Sunday morning. He said Mangeshkar, who was detected positive for Covid-19 and hospitalised in the early hours of January 9, died of multiple organ failure because of sepsis. The legendary singer had spent 28 days in the intensive care unit of the hospital and passed away around 8.12 am.
