Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) State President and MP Sunil Tatkare on Monday expressed his belief that the current polling trends favour the Mahayuti, and he anticipates the alliance's continued success in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

When addressing the media during a press conference at the NCP Mumbai office, Tatkare confidently assured victory for the Mahayuti alliance.

Tatkare stated that the alliance would gain further momentum, noting that there are remaining seats in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Western Maharashtra, Northern Maharashtra, and Konkan regions. "There are some seats left in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Western Maharashtra, Northern Maharashtra, and Konkan while the last phase will see elections in Mumbai and Thane constituencies which will help us," he added.

Tatkare remarked that it's natural for the opposition to resist acknowledging the momentum of the Mahayuti alliance. "They want to maintain their party workers' morale and since the Maha Vikas Aghadi's candidates are contesting, they have to say such things for their voters. That is why they make such statements. The reality however is completely different," he said.

Tatkare also expressed his belief that Sunetra Pawar would secure a more substantial lead from the Khadakwasla Assembly Constituency compared to the BJP's performance in 2019. He emphasised the unity within the Mahayuti alliance, saying, “We are all contesting under the Mahayuti banner. Despite running under the NCP with the 'Clock' symbol, we anticipate winning the majority of seats in Maharashtra as part of the Mahayuti coalition.”

Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024, Tatkare launched a scathing attack on NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar, saying that his social media posts indirectly imply acceptance of defeat regarding the outcome of Baramati.

Tatkare further said that leaders from all three parties are preparing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Mumbai. "I will attend the meeting in Kalyan the next day as NCP state president. It is the responsibility of each worker of every alliance partner of Mahayuti to ensure PM Modi's meeting is a huge success,” he said.
