Raj Thackeray’s whim keeps Mumbai police on their toes

Police have been directed to take stern action if anyone is found violating the law and creating communal tension in the city

Mumbai police have geared up to ensure that no violence takes place on May 3, as MNS chief Raj Thackeray has threatened protests in front of mosques by chanting Hanuman Chalisa if loudspeakers are not removed. They have already started taking action against people with criminal backgrounds, and senior officers have they are preparing to the extent that they will be able to reach any location within five minutes.

Police have been directed to take stern action if anyone is found violating the law and creating communal tension in the city. The city has prepared 1,504 vigilance points in all 94 police stations and patrolling has been initiated 24x7, specially in sensitive locations.
