On July 8, 2025, Mumbai Metro Red Line 7 and 2A recorded 3,01,127 journeys in a single day. Mumbai didn’t just move — it made history. The city demonstrated its growing trust in modern, green transportation, a spokesperson said.
In a post on X, Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited stated, "Maha Mumbai Metro hit 3 Lakh passenger journeys in a day. Proof that progress is picking up speed! On 8th July, 2025, we clocked 3,01,127 journeys in one day. Mumbai didn’t just move, it made history. Mumbai showed what belief in modern, green transport looks like. Thank you for making this possible!"
Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA and Chairman, Maha Mumbai Metro, said, "Maha Mumbai Metro has crossed 3 lakh daily riders for the first time ever.
