The Consul General of China in Mumbai has announced establishment of a school in the memory of Dr Dwarkanath Shantaram Kotnis in his home district Solapur in Maharashtra as a tribute to the legendary Indian physician who went to China in 1938 and provided medical aid in the battle zone during the second Sino-Japanese War.

The announcement was made by Chinese Consul General in Mumbai Kong Xianhua, who also said good ties between New Delhi and Beijing are promoted by people.
