Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister (CM) Eknath Shinde on Monday announced several ambitious public utility projects for Thane, including the construction of an iconic tower-convention centre. Shinde said that the centre will be the country's tallest and will be inspired by the concept of 'mangal kalash'.
The tower-convention centre will be built on a 50-acre plot by Kasarvadavali Creek and is set to be 260 metres tall, he said in a press conference attended by Mumbai civic chief Bhushan Gagrani and Thane Municipal Corporation commissioner Saurabh Rao.
