Maharashtra`s Revenue Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, announced that the state will cancel over 42,000 fake birth certificates held by illegal Bangladeshi nationals by August 15th. Moreover, the copies of these cancelled documents will be sent to the Revenue and Health Departments

The Maharashtra government intends to revoke all fraudulent birth certificates issued to Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing in the state by 15th August, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced on Wednesday, reported news agency PTI.
During a press conference, Bawankule revealed that 42,000 such cases have already been identified, though he noted that the actual figure is likely higher and will be confirmed by officials.
"By August 15, fake birth certificates given to Bangladeshis (staying illegally in the state) will be cancelled," Bawankule stated, adding that copies of these cancelled certificates must be sent to both the Department of Revenue and the Department of Health.
