A week after the police took cognisance of a fake order that said five state service officers were promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), home minister Dilip Walse Patil has ordered an investigation, this time into the fake transfer list of senior cops.
The fake transfer list of 62 police officers of the rank of district superintendent and deputy commissioner was shared on social media and it went viral on Tuesday. Walse Patil told media persons that the list was fake. “The government doesn’t have any such proposal. The circulation of a fake document is a mischief. I have already asked the police department to probe the matter,” he said on Wednesday. The circulation of the fake transfer list is not the sole incident.
