NDRF calls off operations in Raigad for the day; says 16 dead, 21 rescued so far

The landslide occurred on Wednesday night at Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil of Raigad in Maharashtra, around 80 km from Mumbai

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Thursday evening said that it has called off the operations for the day and will resume the rescue and relief operations on Friday morning. 

In a statement, the NDRF said, "Owing to continued heavy rainfall plus threat of further landslides in the dark, operations have been called off after consultation of the local administration. The operations will resume on Friday morning at 0500 hrs."
