A minor fire broke out in a mosque at Mumbra in Thane city of Maharashtra on Friday afternoon, a civic official said, according to the PTI.

In the incident nobody was injured, the officials said.

The incident took place on the first floor of the Darul Falah mosque in Shimla Park locality, Thane civic body's disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said, according to the PTI.

One air conditioner (AC) unit was completely gutted in the blaze that was extinguished in 15 minutes, he said.

People had started assembling for the Friday 'namaz' (prayer) on the ground floor of the mosque when the incident took place, the official said.

Meanwhile, on Thursday a fire broke out on the second floor of a high-rise building in Mumbai's Malabar Hill area on Thursday morning around 11.18 am.

According to the information, the fire broke out on the second floor of Soham Apartment at Teen Batti naka in Malabar Hill.

"Fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, split AC unit in sample flat on 2nd floor of 3 basement plus ground plus upper 21-floored structure," the BMC official informed.

As per the updated information by BMC, the fire extinguished around 11.38 am.

recently, a fire incident occurred in a seven-storey residential building situated in the suburban area of Dahisar in Mumbai. The incident unfolded on Tuesday evening, and fortunately, there were no reported casualties, according to a civic official.

A report in PTI stated that the fire originated in a flat located on the fourth floor of the Sadguru Building in the Babali Pada locality at around 7:45 pm. Swift emergency response measures were put into action, with four fire engines promptly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the blaze, successfully achieving this around 8:30 pm.

The fire was contained within the confines of the flat where it originated. There was no escalation of the flames to other parts of the residential building. This immediate and effective response by the Fire Brigade was vital in averting a more extensive disaster, the report read.

While the fire was successfully brought under control, the exact cause of the blaze remains unknown at this time. Investigation into the cause is likely underway, and it will help determine whether safety measures, such as fire prevention protocols, were in place and followed in the building.
