Over 300 people including employees, stall owners and residents have opposed the change in the reservation of Worli Dairy to marine research institute, aquarium, exhibition centre. The main objections are that milk distribution will be hampered and there will be a threat from terrorists who may enter as tourists.

The Maharashtra government has planned to turn Worli Dairy property into a marine centre. As per the proposal, a part of the land will be developed as a marine institute and aqua centre, while the remaining part will be turned into government offices. The BMC had invited suggestions and objections regarding the change in reservation in November 2021. As per the proposal, which will be tabled in the Improvement Committee on Friday, 327 people objected to the change. Of them, 116 claimed to be employees, 136 stall owners and 74 are residents.
