The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the trust that oversees the renowned Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar district reportedly took his own life on Monday, police said, just weeks after a revelation of corruption, reported the PTI. 

Nitin Shete (43), deputy CEO of Shri Shaneshwar Devasthan, was found hanging at his residence in Shete Vasti, Shani Shingnapur village, approximately 300 km from Mumbai, a police officer stated, according to the news agency PTI. 

The motive behind Shete's death, who was also a former trustee of the temple management, remains unknown, he added.
