The Maharashtra government on Monday presented Supplementary Demands for Grants totalling Rs 75,286.38 crore in the third (Winter) session of the Legislature for December 2025. These include Rs 27,167.49 crore earmarked for mandatory expenditure, Rs 38,059.26 crore under programme-related spending, and Rs 10,059.63 crore linked to centrally sponsored schemes, for which financial support from the Union government is expected. Despite the gross amount, the actual net burden on the state exchequer stands at Rs 64,605.47 crore.

The government has set aside Rs 15,648 crore for compensation to farmers affected by excessive rainfall and for contributions to the State Disaster Response Fund. Another Rs 9,250 crore has been proposed to subsidise electricity tariffs for agricultural pumps, power looms and forest-based industries, along with incentives provided under various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Component-B.
