The Thane traffic police in Maharashtra on Wednesday announced a temporary ban on heavy vehicles on Ghodbunder Road, specifically at the Gaimukh Ghat section for urgent repair works from August 8 to 10, an official notification said.
The notification said that the Kashimira Traffic Department, Zone-1, has informed that road improvement work is planned on the Thane-Ghodbunder Highway (State Highway No. 84), specifically at the Gaimukh Ghat section. The work involves strengthening and resurfacing the road. The work will be carried out by Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation from 8th August 2025 to 10th August 2025.
It said that it is necessary to restrict the movement of heavy and oversized vehicles to prevent traffic congestion in the Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar areas.
