Five hundred protestors face charges for protest on highway in Pune

As many as 500 activists who participated in the Maratha quota agitation in Pune have been charged by the police for arson and obstructing traffic on the Pune-Bengaluru Expressway.

As many as 500 activists who participated in the Maratha quota agitation in Pune have been charged by the police for arson and obstructing traffic on the Pune-Bengaluru Expressway, officials told PTI on Wednesday. 

According to the report, nearly 500 activists backing the Maratha reservation on Tuesday protested on the expressway near Navale bridge in Maharashtra`s Pune between  12.15 pm and 2.45 pm on Tuesday. They burnt tires to emphasize their demand for Maratha reservations, as confirmed by the police, the report added.
