A week after the arrest of the father and the tantrik in the Mira Road rape case, the police have not been able to conduct medical tests on them.
The father Kishore Chauhan and tantrik Hasmukh Rathod, who raped the two sisters from Mira Road, have been unable to ejaculate and hence collecting their sperm sample for medical tests has not been possible, informed the Mira Road police.
According to the law, the tests are to be carried on immediately after an arrest. The investigations in the case have come to a standstill, as only after the medical check up the police will be able to conclude if the girls were raped by them.
Meanwhile, the police have conducted blood tests on Chauhan, Rathod and the mother of the two girls, also an accused in the case, which revealed that they were not HIV positive. When the accused were produced in court on Saturday, the prosecution had sought an extension of their custody, to further investigate if Chauhan and the tantrik was involved in flesh trade. They have been remanded to the police custody till March 26.
