The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved and finalized three sets of colours for its Monorail fleet divided in three basic elements of Nature.

The Mother earth trains, Nature trains and the Sky trains. The colour pallet has been recommended by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

The three colours finalized are Maroon, Green and Sky-Blue. "Each identifies an element of nature. Maroon celebrates Mother Earth, Green associates with environment and Blue promises an experience where sky is the limit!" said Mr. Ratnakar Gaikwad, a visibly happy Metropolitan Commissioner. "u2026and the aerodynamic design of the Monorail simply indicates the speed with which this vibrant city runs", added Mr.Gaikwad.
