MSRTC to conduct cleanliness drive at ST bus stations every 15 days

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation MSRTC has announced that it will undertake a comprehensive cleanliness drive every 15 days across all its bus stations station premises and administrative buildings as part of efforts to ensure safer and healthier travel for passengersAccording to MSRTC the initiative aims to improve hygiene standards at ST bus stations while enhancing the overall passenger experience and strengthening the public image of the staterun transport serviceAs part of the drive thorough cleaning will be carried out of seating areas floors walls glass surfaces toilets drinking water points womenrsquos restrooms and office sections within the bus station premises The campaign will also focus on the removal of accumulated garbage unwanted shrubs and vegetation advertisement boards cobwebs and other debris to ensure a cleaner and bettermaintained environmentTo improve waste management separate bins will be provided for proper segregation and disposal of waste Special emphasis will be placed on maintaining hygiene at drinking water facilities with instructions issued for their regular cleaning and upkeep to safeguard the health of passengers and staffThe cleanliness drive will be implemented with the participation of local selfgoverning bodies social organisations students citizens as well as MSRTC officials and employees Responsibility for the strict and effective implementation at each bus station has been assigned to the respective department headsMSRTC officials said that conducting the drive every 15 days is expected to significantly improve cleanliness levels at ST bus stations making them healthier and more passengerfriendly The initiative is also expected to enhance the quality of services and further strengthen passengersrsquo confidence in the ST networkMSRTC earned Rs 301 crore during Diwali seasonMeanwhile the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation MSRTC earned Rs 301 crore during the 10day Diwali period this year Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik announcedThe Pune division recorded the highest earnings followed by Dhule and Nashik marking a Rs 37crore increase compared to last yearrsquos festive seasonBetween October 18 and October 27 the staterun transport body earned an average of Rs 30 crore per day with revenue peaking at Rs 3975 crore on October 27 mdash the highest singleday collection of 2025 as thousands of passengers returned to cities after the holidaysAmong the corporationrsquos 31 divisions Pune topped with Rs 2047 crore followed by Dhule Rs 1560 crore and Nashik Rs 1541 croreldquoOur dedicated ST staff worked tirelessly staying away from their families during Diwali to ensure passengers reached their destinations safely Their contribution made this success possiblerdquo said Pratap Sarnaik Maharashtra Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman
