Mumbai: 1.1 lakh given jabs, BMC centres grab lion’s share

Citizens in the 18-44 bracket formed the biggest chunk of beneficiaries. As per BMC data, 79,748 from this category got the vaccines across the city of which 45,066 were given the doses at civic-run centres and 4,115 were administered jabs by state-run facilities.

With free access to vaccines for those above 18 years, beneficiaries have been ditching private facilities for civic-run centres. Of the 1,11,110 lakh doses delivered on Wednesday, more than 75,000 citizens took their shots at BMC vaccination points.
