With free access to vaccines for those above 18 years, beneficiaries have been ditching private facilities for civic-run centres. Of the 1,11,110 lakh doses delivered on Wednesday, more than 75,000 citizens took their shots at BMC vaccination points.

The civic centres started vaccinations for the 18 to 30 years age group from Wednesday. On Tuesday, 50,929 people between 30 and 44 years received their first dose in civic and government centres.
After BMC started vaccination for people above 30, the city saw more than a lakh turnout for the third consecutive day on Wednesday.
During the day, 12,304 jabs were given to senior citizens, while 17,153 were administered in 45-59 category. The city also immunised 407 students and 14 lactating mothers.
