The 15 per cent water cut imposed from February 28 will continue for at least two more weeks as the power plant repair work at Bhatsa dam will take longer. Meanwhile, due to leakage during repair work on the Tansa main pipeline, Mahim to Parel will not get water on Monday and Tuesday.
There was a power disruption at Bhatsa dam on February 27 and the work on restoring the power plant is ongoing. “We haven’t received any official communication about the repairing status of the power plant at Bhatsa, but could take two more weeks,” said an official from the hydraulic engineering department of the BMC.
