He was rushed to the civic-run Rajawadi Hospital but was declared brought dead.
According to Feroz Khan, a resident of Siddhivinayak Society, the 24-floor building had been constructed under a Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) initiative.
“We lived in the same building. The builder is constructing an elevated parking space on the 23rd level. Work on the elevator was taking place when this incident happened. THE SRA should also take action in this matter,” Khan said.
He added, “We have written a letter to the local police station demanding strict action. According to residents who spoke to those who were trapped under the rubble, no engineer was present at the site.”
