Washim Chaudhary, the deceased
A 21-year-old was killed and his partner injured when two unknown people attacked the couple with a knife on Mahim beach in the wee hours of Wednesday, said police. The girlfriend alleged that the men tried to molest her and attacked them when they fought back. The deceased has been identified as Washim Chaudhary, a resident of Govandi who worked as a driver. His girlfriend, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital, told police that she somehow managed to escape after they were attacked.
Chaudhary’s family has accused the girlfriend of being involved in the murder, claiming that she is a drug addict because of which she was thrown out of her own house. Police said the incident occurred between 2 am and 2.30 am on Wednesday. Chaudhary had left home at 1 pm on Tuesday to meet his friends. In the evening, he met his girlfriend and they decided to go to Mahim Dargah and reached there around 12-12.30 am. Later, they went to the beach where they were attacked by two men.
