Mumbai: 39/100 girls hesitant to talk about periods openly, reveals survey

'During the survey, we found 12.5 per cent of girls think periods are not good for their health, and 21.4 per cent of girls said that they don't know whether periods are good or not for their menstrual health. The awareness level among them is a serious concern because teenagers don't have proper knowledge about menstrual hygiene management'

Out of 100 girls, around 39 don’t know how to use sanitary pads and are hesitant to talk about it openly, reveals a general survey by a social organisation.
A survey and awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene among 100 students in Mumbai highlighted why it is important that students should be taught about periods and menstrual health at an early stage.
