Mumbai: 7-foot Indian rock python found in Borivali restaurant

Indian Rock Python

In the early hours of Sunday, a 7-foot-long Indian rock python was found in a restaurant at IC Colony in Borivali West. The python had managed to enter the establishment late at night and was discovered resting atop a stack of distilled water bottles.

Around 4 am the next morning, a snake was spotted in the restaurant's storage room. The restaurant had closed at midnight, and all the staff were asleep.

Luckily, one employee woke up to drink water and spotted the snake inside the storage area.

Without delay, the employee promptly notified Sai Mondkar, a snake rescuer based in Dahisar.

Recognising that the snake was a considerable distance away, Mondkar sought assistance from another snake rescuer named Sunil Gupta.

Gupta arrived at the restaurant and found a sizable python perched amidst tightly packed packets of drinking water bottles. With expertise and caution, Gupta successfully rescued the python and safely released it back into its natural habitat.

It is presumed that the python had likely entered the restaurant in search of rodents or rats.
