The Esplanade Court at CSMT has repeatedly requested Cama Hospital to provide on-site medical facilities for court staff and judges. The demand intensified after advocate Malti Pawar collapsed and died in the court following a cardiac arrest on October 31. In response, Cama Hospital wrote to the court stating that it could not provide regular medical services due to a shortage of doctors.

On Tuesday, court manager Sunil Patole met Cama Hospital Dean Dr Tushar Palve to again request emergency medical support for the Esplanade Court. Dr Palve told mid-day that hospital staff would be prepared to rush to the court if an emergency arises. He said first aid would be provided on-site and the patient would be shifted to the hospital as required.
