Mumbai saw a marginal dip in new Covid-19 cases and the test positivity rate on Saturday. However, the number of Covid-19 fatalities saw a slight increase. On Monday, the city had recorded the second wave’s lowest daily cases and fatalities post which there was marginal rise for the next days.


As per the BMC, 262 new cases were registered along with six deaths in Mumbai. Of the six deaths, five patients had comorbidities. Five deaths were in the age group of 60 and above, and one death was reported between 40 and 60 years of age. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 323 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday.


The MMR saw a marginal rise, but cases remained below 1,000 on Saturday. As per the state report, 733 cases were reported in the MMR region, including cases from Mumbai.


The state’s Covid-19 cases saw a significant dip as 5,787 cases were registered on Saturday. The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.1 per cent as 5,352 recovered and got discharged. Currently, the state has 63,262 active cases.
