Mumbai: After spike for two days, city’s daily COVID-19 tally drops below 600

The daily tally of confirmed novel Coronavirus infections dropped slightly across the state, where officials on Friday registered 3,145 new ones

The daily tally of confirmed novel Coronavirus infections dropped slightly across the state, where officials on Friday registered 3,145 new ones.

Despite a higher number of COVID-19 tests, Mumbai recorded 574 new cases after registering more than 600 cases the past two days. The civic officials conducted 16,136 COVID-19 tests on Friday, against the daily average of about 13,000 till a few days back. The test positivity rate was recorded at 3.6 per cent, way below the June average of 18 per cent.
