Mumbai: BMC extends CFC timings for property tax payments till 10 PM

To facilitate citizens in paying property tax for the financial year 2025ndash26 the Citizen Facilitation Centres CFCs in all 24 ward offices of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC will remain open on Thursday from 800 am to 1000 pmThe BMC administration has urged citizens to take note and pay their property tax within the extended hoursThe BMC administration has appealed to citizens to take note of this and pay their property tax accordinglyMumbai Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates flats under Worlis BDD chawl redevelopment hands over keysMaharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the flats under the Worli BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project on ThursdayDCM Eknath Shinde DCM Ajit Pawar Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha Minister Adv Ashish Shelar MoS Dr Pankaj Bhoyar MP Milind Deora and other dignitaries were presentThe keys of the flats were handed over by CM Fadnavis during an event in MumbaiThe redevelopment project is one of the most ambitious urban renewal initiatives in Asia undertaken by the Maharashtra government and implemented by MHADArsquos Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board In total 9689 residents from 121 old chawls tenement buildings in Worli are to be rehabilitatedIn the first phase Building No 01rsquos D and E wings have been completed Each eligible family currently living in 160 sq ft rooms will now receive modern fully furnished 2BHK homes measuring 500 sq ft at no cost and on an ownership basis The buildings also feature fire safety systems branded fittings three passenger lifts one stretcher lift and one fire liftEach home includes one dedicated parking space in a podiumstyle facility and an ecofriendly garden on the seventh floor Additional amenities include vitrified tile flooring granite kitchen platforms aluminiumframed windows and highquality plumbingThe redevelopment plan also provides a commercial complex schools gyms hospitals hostels a sewage treatment plant solar energy systems and rainwater harvestingMHADA will maintain the new buildings for 12 yearsThe project will also preserve the historical legacy of the BDD Chawls Jambori Maidan and Ambedkar Maidan will be protected and a museum will showcase the heritage and history of the chawlsAccording to an official statement under the leadership of MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal the project has advanced rapidly By December 2025 over 3989 flats across Worli Naigaon Dadar and N M Joshi Marg Parel are expected to be completedUntil their new homes are ready residents can choose between temporary transit accommodations or advance rent payments of Rs 25000 per month for 11 monthsThe full BDD redevelopment project spans about 86 acres and includes around 207 chawls across Worli Parel N M Joshi Marg and NaigaonIn total 15593 families will be rehabilitated officials said
