The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) once again overachieved its target of vaccination on Friday, probably due to the cancellation of vaccination on Saturday. More than 12,000 health and frontline workers received the jab on Friday, out of whom more than 4,000 got the second dose of the vaccine. There won’t be vaccinations on Saturday as the COWIN app will be transitioned to COWIN 2.0 during the weekend.

The vaccination programme for senior citizens and people with co-morbidities and those above 45 years will be rolled out in the coming week. The COWIN app will need modification to suit the general public as the seniors and co-morbid people have to register through it.
