In a tragic accident at the Om Prathamesh Society building in IC Colony, Borivli West, a car lift collapsed, killing one worker and seriously injuring another. The incident occurred on Saturday between 10.30 and 11 am, under the jurisdiction of the MHB Police Station.
According to police, the car lift gave way suddenly. One person, Shivam Dhuria, 24, a lift technician from Naigaon, sustained severe head and spinal injuries and was declared dead on arrival at Shatabdi Hospital. The second victim, Sanchit Yadav, 46, is undergoing treatment for multiple injuries.
Shivam Dhuria, originally from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, had worked with a reputable lift manufacturing company for the past year and a half. He had come to the building for routine maintenance of the lift. Dhuria was the only son of his mother, who lives alone in their native village. His father had passed away during Dhuria’s childhood, and his sister had been married for a few years.
