Days after the death of a three-year-old boy who fell from the 6th floor of the Garware club, the Marine Drive Police registered a case against an unknown person after the family filed a complaint against the managing committee of the Garware club. The family has alleged that it was negligence on the part of the club that a portion of the glass railing on the staircase was missing, due to which 3-year-old Haridyansh Rathod fell to the ground floor and died.

According to Marine Drive police, an FIR under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) has been registered against an unknown person, and further investigations are underway. The incident took place on December 18 when three-year-old Rathod, along with his father Avinash Rathod, mother Charmi and sister Amaira Rathod, went to watch the live streaming of the FIFA World Cup final. At around 10:46 pm, Haridyansh went down to the 5th floor to use the washroom along with his 10-year-old relative and while returning back to the terrace, he fell down from the 6th floor and died at Bombay hospital. The police registered an ADR, and now, based on the complaint of the family, a case of negligence by death has been registered against unknown persons without naming anyone from the club.

"We had clearly mentioned that since the managing committee had organised the event. Our complaint had to mention the managing committee of the club as the people responsible for this mishap, which I had mentioned in my statement. However, now we realised that in the accused section of the FIR they have mentioned 'unknown' which should have actually been the 'managing committee'. I hope that my son will get justice," said the father of the deceased.
