The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued a fire safety notice to the National Sports Club of India in Worli after inspections by the Mumbai Fire Brigade found multiple lapses, including faulty diesel pumps, leaking hoses and non-compliance with mandatory certification norms

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a notice to the National Sports Club of India (NSCI), located on Lala Lajpat Rai Road in Worli, over alleged violations of fire safety norms under Section 5(1) of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Act, 2006. The notice, issued on December 20, follows inspections carried out by the Mumbai Fire Brigade at the NSCI premises on December 19.
The notice, a copy of which is with mid-day.com, stated: “The following deviations from or contraventions of the requirements with regard to fire prevention and life safety measures, or inadequacies or non-compliances of such measures with reference to the height of the building or the nature of activities carried on in such building or premises or part thereof, have been reported.”
