Mumbai couple, third individual held for entering flat sealed by bank

The Mumbai police have arrested a Mumbai couple and a third person for allegedly unlawfully entering a flat sealed by a bank over a pending loan an official said on Sunday reported news agency PTIAccording to the police the apartment in the citys Mahim area was owned by one Dilsher alias Zameer Qureshi reported PTIA bank recently sealed the flat after Qureshi defaulted on a loan that he had availed against the propertyHowever Qureshi removed the seal and signed a lease agreement with one Fayyaz Ansari after taking Rs 30 lakh from him without disclosing the banks action the official said reported PTIQureshis wife who had the keys to the flat even took Ansari to the apartment When she began to remove their household items from the flat someone alerted the bank the official said reported PTIBank officials then approached the police who recently arrested Ansari from the propertyAfter questioning Ansari who claimed innocence the police arrested Qureshi and his wife on Saturday night the official said reported PTIThe Mumbai couple and a third person has been booked under the Indian Penal Code IPC for trespassing housebreaking and other charges the official said adding that one more person who apparently helped Ansari with money for the lease is also under the scannerIn another incident two police personnel have been suspended for allegedly not facilitating medical assistance to a 47yearold commuter who collapsed at a railway station in Mumbai and later died an official said on Sunday reported PTIAfter the man collapsed the two personnel put him in the luggage compartment of a train where he was later found dead he saidThe deceased Allauddin Mujjahid boarded a train from Sewri on February 14 and got down at Reay Road station to go to his workplace in Masjid area where he was employed as a salesman in a shop the official said reported PTIAs per the CCTV footage the man felt uncomfortable and was seen sitting on a bench on platform no 2 of the Reay Road stationLater he was seen collapsing and falling the official saidAfter some time the two police personnel who were on duty at the station were seen checking on Mujjahid They apparently thought he was a drug addict and put him in the luggage compartment of a local train he said reported PTIThe man was found dead the next day in the luggage compartment of the train at Goregaon station during a routine inspection by the railway police the official said reported PTIInitially an accidental death report ADR was registered with the Borivali railway police and they initiated an inquiryAfter going through footage of at least 100 CCTVs from Goregaon station in western suburbs to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus south Mumbai the police found the man collapsed at the Reay Road station the official said reported PTIThe CCTV captured railway police constable Vijay Khandekar and Maharashtra Security Force policeman Mahesh Andale picking up the man and putting him in the trains luggage compartment instead of providing medical assistance he said reported PTIAs per the postmortem report the man died of brain hemorrhage while he was heading to his workplace He is survived by his wife and a 19yearold son who reside in Sewri area the official said reported PTIThe cops who had noticed the man failed to provide him immediate medical assistance leading to his untimely demise he saidThe two personnel were suspended on Thursday and booked under Indian Penal Code section for causing death due to negligence and other provisions the official saidA departmental inquiry has been initiated against them the police addedWith inputs from PTI
