Mumbai sessions court, on Monday, rejected the application of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Sameer Wankhede seeking directions from court to prevent attempts to create hurdles and scuttle in the ongoing drugs-on-cruise case probe, reports Bar and Bench.

In its plea, the NCB had prayed that cognizance should not be taken of the affidavit by witness Prabhakar Sail in the drug case.

The anti-drug agency and Wankhede had moved court, on Monday after NCB witness Prabhakar Sail alleged a payoff in the Aryan Khan drugs case and Nawab Malik attacked Wankhede questioning his integrity and identity.

Wankhede's counsel told the court on Monday that personal allegations are being made against him and his family.

"Why are there allegations against my family members? Is it because of my supervisory position? Is it only to divert me and make me fail in court. My family including my sister and deceased mother are being targeted," he asked.

Wankehde prayed that nobody should be allowed to influence the witnesses and the investigation.
