Mumbai: Covid-19 cases fluctuate, but stay below 1,000

Both number of daily infections and number of deaths rise marginally to 696 and 24, respectively; Maharashtra sees rise in fatalities

The number of Covid-19 infections in the city has been fluctuating but hasn’t breached the 1,000-mark. After a slight fall on Thursday, both daily cases and deaths rose marginally to 696 and 24, respectively, on Friday. The state-wide tally, however, dropped a little to 11,766. With the rise in cases, the test positivity rate (TPR) in the city also increased marginally to 2.65 per cent. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region also saw a decline in new cases of novel Coronavirus at 2,127.
