Mumbai: Covid-19 cases rise past 200; deaths, TPR drop

City registers 218 fresh Covid infections, one death and a TPR of 0.68 per cent on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the number of new Coronavirus cases rose past 200, while the test positivity rate (TPR) and fatalities dropped significantly. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, the city registered 218 fresh infections, one death and a TPR of 0.68 per cent. The daily cases had fallen below 200 the day before.

On Monday, the city had reported four deaths and a TPR of 0.77 per cent. The single fatality reported on Tuesday was that of a senior citizen who had comorbidities. The doubling rate improved marginally to 2,031 days. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent, with 188 more people having recovered and being discharged on Tuesday.
