Mumbai: Covid-19 cases rise to 425, TPR dips to 1.34 per cent

While cases rise in the state significantly, fatalities see a marginal increase

On Tuesday, Mumbai saw a marginal rise in new cases but the test positivity rate (TPR) dipped along with Covid-19 fatalities. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 425 new cases were reported on Tuesday. The city recorded a TPR of 1.34% and two deaths. Both the deceased had comorbidities and were in the age group over 60 years.

The doubling rate marginally dipped to 1,087 days on Tuesday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 400 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday. After the new cases in the state fell below 2,000 on Monday, they rose significantly on Tuesday. There was also saw a marginal rise in Covid-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 2,069 cases were reported along with 43 deaths across the state.
