The victims were beaten up with a whip for hours
The Kandivli police have arrested five band players, who allegedly kidnapped two youth, including a minor, beat them up, shaved off their hair and eyebrows and paraded them in a semi-nude condition in the Malad locality where one of them used to reside earlier. After a video of the incident went viral on social media, the cops swung into action and nabbed the five accused on Wednesday night. However, cops said that more people were involved in the incident.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ravindra Dulraj, 32, Rahul Bidlang, 24, Rohit Kangda, 25, Yogesh Tak, 19 and Vijay Dudkanch, 24. Investigation has revealed that the accused kidnapped Akshay Dulraj, 21, and his 16-year-old friend from Janta Colony link road in Kandivli West on Wednesday morning and took them to Malad Kanchpada area where Akshay used to reside earlier. The accused alleged that the duo had stolen R30,000 and a mobile phone from one of them.
